Through the gifted and talented program, our students are able to meet the unique social, emotional and intellectual needs for life-long success.
We are a talent development district and believe our students who are identified as gifted and talented along with our students who are scheduled as advanced should engage in a multi-faceted, accelerated, differentiated curriculum that focuses on challenging, real-world issues. Students scheduled as advanced will be closely monitored for talent development and possible future identification.
Our teachers do this by focusing on the acceleration of subject content within each of the core academic areas of language arts, math, science and social studies.
Teachers also support students in making learning connections through universal themes. Universal themes are broad, overarching concepts that are relevant across cultures, time periods, and disciplines. Learning through universal themes offers a range of benefits that contribute to their holistic development and overall understanding of the world.
