Carla Flores, Principal
Carla Flores, who has served as an Assistant Principal at Lee Elementary School, has been named Principal of the school.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve and give to others every day at Lee Elementary School,” says Flores. “I am excited to continue to see the success of all our students and teachers and community.”
Prior to joining the Lee team, Flores served as an Administrative Liaison at Lamar Middle School and a 5th Grade Bilingual Teacher at Johnston Elementary School. Her 22-year career also include stops in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD as an Assistant Principal and Arlington ISD as a Bilingual/ESL/Dual Language Teacher. Before entering education, Flores was a conservatorship caseworker for Children’s Protective Services.
She earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.

VyTara Simmons, Assistant Principal
Ms. Simmons began her career in education in 2006 with the Houston Independent School District. She joined Irving ISD in 2016 as an Instructional Technology Specialist at Davis Elementary. Before joining the Lee Elementary Team, Ms. Simmons was an Assistant Principal at Schulze Elementary School.
Simmons received an undergraduate degree from Wichita State University and Master’s in Education degree from the University of Saint Thomas – Houston.
She believes that educating future leaders takes effort, determination and the constant pursuit of the ideal. She believes all students can achieve at high levels of learning given strategic support systems. She knows that preparing our scholars to be leaders of tomorrow is interminable hard work that is perpetually rewarding.
