Anabel Ibarra, Principal
Ms. Ibarra joined Irving ISD in 2010 as a Spanish teacher at Barbara Cardwell Career Preparatory Center, where she then transitioned to an Instructional Technology Specialist, before joining the administration team at Lady Bird Johnson Middle School. During her time in Irving ISD, she has led campus and district professional development, served on the Spanish, English and Social Studies curriculum writing teams, and presented at the Texas Behavior Support Conference on PBIS for at-risk students.
Ms. Ibarra was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Her children and family attend Irving ISD and she is proud to both be a part of and serve the community. As a former English language learner and the first college graduate in her family, she is passionate about ensuring that all students have the opportunity to learn and grow to be able to achieve their dreams. She is honored to serve as principal of Bowie Middle School and witness Bowie Nation foster lifelong learning, through positive relationships, accountability, and shared responsibility in the education process.

OT Thomas, Assistant Principal
O.T. Thomas has been a part of Irving ISD since 2010. Prior to joining the Bowie Middle School family, he was an associate principal at MacArthur High School. Previously, he taught business in Fort Worth ISD and served as a football, soccer and baseball coach for Arlington ISD. Mr. Thomas is looking forward to spending this school year supporting the Bowie Middle School staff and helping students to achieve their greatest potential.
Mr. Thomas earned his bachelor's in finance from the University of Texas at El Paso and his master's in education from New Mexico State. In his spare time, Mr. Thomas enjoys working out, watching sports and spending time with his family.

Brittney Mishaw, Assistant Principal
An Assistant Principal at Bowie Middle School, Brittney MiShaw is an Irving ISD alumnus that attended Lively Elementary, Austin Middle School, and Irving High School. After graduating from Irving High School, she attended Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teacher Education. Mrs. MiShaw began her teaching career at Lamar Middle School in August of 2011, where she served as an 8th grade Special Education Inclusion Teacher, girls’ athletic coach, and assistant principal. She received her Master of Science degree from Arkansas State University in Special Education and earned her Principal Certification in Educational Leadership at Lamar University. Mrs. MiShaw believes that building positive relationships and setting expectations for all students is the foundation of being an effective educator. Her motto is, “Taking the time to learn and build relationships with my students is the stepping stone for me to gain their trust when trying to help them achieve academic and social success.”
