Henry Taylor, Principal
Mr. Taylor is thrilled to be returning as the principal of Thomas Haley Elementary. He is committed to ensuring that every student reaches their fullest potential and is proud to announce that Thomas Haley was a “B” rated campus last year! The staff members at Thomas Haley strive to promote the academic, social and personal development of all of our Horned Frogs. Mr. Taylor looks forward to continuing his work with the students, parents, community members and the dedicated staff of the GREAT Thomas Haley Elementary School as we continue to Learn together, Empower others, Achieve goals, Discover our potential and reach for our goal of becoming an “A” rated campus.
Mr. Taylor graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Health Promotion and obtained his Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University. He has worked in Education for 18 years and had the pleasure of working with T.H.E. amazing Horned Frogs as assistant principal for three years before moving into his current role. He has also served as an assistant principal in Dallas ISD.
Mr. Taylor looks forward to working hand and hand with every member of the Thomas Haley community. His vision for all Horned Frogs is to achieve greatness and DREAM BIG!!!

Mariana Gómez, Assistant Principal
Ms. Gómez received her Bachelor's in Business Administration from University of Texas at Arlington and her master's degree in Educational Leadership from the Concordia University in Austin. Ms. Gómez started her career in Irving ISD as a third grade bilingual teacher at Otis Brown Elementary. During her time at Brown, she also taught second and fifth grade, served as both a Special Education and support teacher. She provided intervention for K-5th grade students, coaching for teachers, and facilitated trainings and professional learning communities. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Principal at Johnston Elementary.
Ms. Gómez feels truly blessed to be serving as an Assistant Principal at Thomas Haley Elementary. She looks forward to supporting our students, teachers, parents, and the community as we strive towards our goal of creating critical thinkers, leaders, and contributors in a diverse and competitive world.

Kanitha Atkinson, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Atkinson is ecstatic to join Thomas Haley Elementary as an Assistant Principal. She has been in education for 10 years. Her previous assignments include working as an elementary teacher, an Instructional Reading Coach, and an Assistant Principal Intern.
Mrs. Atkinson received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Howard Payne University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mrs. Atkinson also has earned her credentials in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
Mrs. Atkinson began her tenure in Crowley ISD as an elementary special education reading and math teacher. During this time she used her talents to head many campus organizations, including a mentor program. After three years of working as a classroom educator, Mrs. Atkinson had the opportunity to serve as an Instructional Reading Coach. As a Reading Coach, she provided ongoing reading support to teachers and students by implementing standards-based methodologies with fidelity and facilitated numerous reading activities including yearly campus Reading night functions. In 2018 Mrs. Atkinson she left Crowley and went to HEB ISD, where she became a fifth grade reading teacher at South Euless Elementary and in 2021 she transitioned to an Assistant Principal Internship.
