Amber Brooks, Principal
Mrs. Amber Brooks is excited to return for her sixth year as principal of Jackie Mae Townsell Elementary. Mrs. Brooks is committed to educating all scholars in a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment. She prides herself on building relational capacity with students, staff, and the community in an effort to support the whole child. Mrs. Brooks is proud of the academic achievements gained and looks forward to continuing to lead with a passion and purpose for positive change in the lives of children.
Mrs. Brooks graduated from Texas A&M University at Commerce with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Educational Administration. She is currently working towards earning her doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University. Mrs. Brooks worked in Lancaster ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, and Mansfield ISD prior to coming to Irving ISD. In her educational career, she has served as an elementary and middle school teacher, math instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family or cheering on America's team, the Dallas Cowboys!!!
Mrs. Brooks is committed to creating a culture of leadership and excellence. She knows this can only be accomplished when everyone works as a team. Let's go further together and build the brightest futures for our young Timberwolves!!!

Pamela McCray, Assistant Principal
Pamela McCray comes to Townsell Elementary with over 20 years of experience in the dynamic field of education. A Kansas City native, Pamela earned her Bachelor of Science (Elementary Education) and her dual Master of Education (Administration and Supervision) degrees from the #1 HBCU in the nation, the Southern University. She is a proud Jaguar! She matriculated through Walden University, where she completed all the required coursework for her Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership (ABD). Her educational experience includes a decade of achieving her #1 goal of building quality relationships. Effective instructional delivery was the “vehicle” of choice she used to accomplish this goal in K-5 classrooms in two of the largest school districts in Louisiana and Texas. She has served as an Instructional Specialist, and she can’t wait to collaborate with teachers, administrators, students, community members, and parents to ensure the success of our Townsell family. Go Timberwolves!
