Elementary Reassignment Center Enrollment Procedures
ELEMENTARY REASSIGNMENT CENTER- PLACEMENT CHECKLIST
Call Reny Lizardo at (972-600-5023) for approval of placement- Once Approved by Reny Lizardo, Scott Sralla will send an email with Campus enrollment link
- Electronic Campus Google Hearing form is to be completed before placement.
- Bus Transportation Form (takes 3-4 days to set up)
- Handbook Signature Page (see page 5)
- Student Information Sheet completed before placement

- Home campus administrator will scan and email completed transportation form and handbook signature page to; Scott Sralla, Phyllis Green, Frank Smith, and Sheri Wood
- Once ERC paperwork and transportation request is received from the home campus, SRC Dean will contact home campus and parent with ERC orientation date.
- Orientation will be held 9:00 AM at ERC
- Orientation will be held 9:00 AM at ERC
- For Special Ed.:
- ARD must be held after the hearing but prior to placement for Special Ed students
- Provide MD/Behavior Review/BIP/IEP/SOS/Testing/Accommodations
- For 504:
- 504 MD meeting will be held after the hearing but prior to placement for 504 students
- Provide MD Notes and Accommodations to campus counselor, Deborah Simmons
- Distribute and review Student/Parent Handbook (English / Spanish) at due process meeting
- All supplies will be provided
- Breakfast and lunch are free
- Items needed for intake meeting from the home campus:
- Textbooks (Everyday Math Journal Vol 1 & 2, Science Fusion, My World SS Book, New ELAR Book, and Science Journal)
- Student’s computer log in
- Completed Student Information Sheet
- SRC Teacher Communication:
- ERC Dean of Students, Frank Smith III, will email a Google doc Gradebook
- Home campus teacher can communicate via e-mail to Jennifer Barbaste
- Ms. Barbaste will post grades in the ERC gradebook on Thursdays by 4PM
- ERC Attendance:
- The home campus should mark ALL students absent who are assigned to the Elementary DAEP.
- Becky Kelly, Elementary DAEP Attendance clerk will override absences.
- Exit:
- ERC Dean will schedule a meeting with the parent, student, campus administrator, elementary dean, and elementary teacher.
- Once Approved by Reny Lizardo, Scott Sralla will send an email with Campus enrollment link

Secondary Reassignment Center Enrollment Procedures
1. Enter the incident into PEIMS.
2. Email Mr. Scott Sralla ssralla@irvingisd.net,Mrs. Sheri Wood swood@irvingisd.net, and Mr. Frank Smith frsmith@irvingisd.net with student name, ID, and PEIMS information with a request for a start date.
3. Mr. Sralla will respond with an email containing a potential start date, a link to your campus's hearing folder and a reminder of the below information:
Important Reminders:
- Call Sheri Wood or Scott Sralla with questions and to alert the SRC of any potential safety concerns @ 3905
- Complete the digital hearing and enrollment link to secure the start date.
- Students cannot come to SRC without the process being completed
- Share a copy of the Student Reassignment Center handbook with the student and parents (Included in the digital hearing/enrollment link)
- Provide student and parent with reminders about SRC dress code expectations and intake procedures
- If the student is serviced through Special Education
- Hold the DAEP Hearing
- Notify Special Education staff as soon as you consider sending the student to DAEP
- Schedule and hold the Manifestation Determination ARD meeting (Consider a staffing prior to the MDARD)
- If drugs, weapons, or serious bodily injury are involved a DAEP placement occurs regardless of it being a manifestation of the disability
- Check with a special education director if you have additional questions
- Students serviced in the PASS program or who have an Emotional
- Disturbance eligibility require consultation with Mr. Reny Lizardo and your special education director
- Discretionary placements must be approved by Mr. Reny Lizardo
- Verify approval in an email to Sheri Wood and Scott Sralla, and CC: Reny Lizardo
- Inform SRC staff of important student information
- Student ESL status or LEP status
- Inform SRC staff if a student has homeless status or foster care status
- Inform SRC staff of all tests needed and accommodations required
- Inform SRC staff of special transportation requirements; ie. Special
- Education or homeless
- Inform SRC staff of required HB4545 Intervention requirements
- Distribute an appropriate handbook accessible through the link below
4. Complete the Student Hearing process.
5. Distribute SRC Student/Parent Handbook (English /Spanish) to parent/guardian and student and review.
- Emphasize the dress code.
- Arrive for SRC Orientation between 7:15-7:30/Entrance at Wheeler Transitional Center.
- All supplies and meals will be provided.
Important Facts:
Sheri Wood, SRC Secretary, will notify home campus when student enrolls.The home campus should mark ALL students absent who are assigned to the SRC. Becky Kelly, SRC Attendance clerk will override absences.
SRC follows the district curriculum.
SRC will send all grades back through a shared Google Doc with Teacher, Campus Dean & Admin.
Campus Dean should drop off work prior to student's first day at SRC.
All assignments, hard copies or electronic, need to be sent with a cover page.
Home Campus Assignments Cover Page
PRN, ESL, AP or elective courses: packets of work should be given to the Campus Dean of Students to be hand delivered to the SRC.
SRC to provide textbooks except for special circumstances, SRC will request.
Testing:
Oral accommodations will be sent back to the home campus for testing. (SPED, ESL, 504)Notify SRC Testing Coordinator Phyllis Green of any special circumstance at least one week before testing dates.
Paper test will be provided to the SRC by the Ad. Building. Home Campus Testing Coordinator will send any/all answer documents bubbled in prior to testing.
ALL state and national testing students will be sent back to their home campus for testing.
TELPAS: A writing sample will be collected in each core class during the LAST 2 WEEKS of the TELPAS window only.
MAP/iStation: SRC will administer in accordance with the home campuses.
SRC Exit:
Golden Exit Ticket will be emailed to the student and home campus on their final day.Students will report to the AP/Dean when they return to their home campus to follow Transition Procedures.
