Swim Safe

  • Learn to swim by 2nd grade through the district's Swim Safe!

    Swim Safe is an eight day, in-school free aquatic program offered to all 2nd grade students. Swim Safe introduces basic water safety and swimming strokes so students develop their confidence and skill level in the water. All 20 elementary school participate.

  • Irving ISD offers swimming programs for our middle school students and Irving families. 

    Swim Academy extends swimming skills and water safety for middle school students. The Academy also encourages students to join swim and water polo teams, lifeguarding, teaching swimming and swimming for fitness. The Middle School Swim Academy is a free, after-school program offered at all middle schools. 

    Pool School is a year-round, fee-based aquatic program for families focused on water safety. The cost is $10 per child (ages 4+) per session (four lessons) and adults are free. 

    The aquatics programs are part of the Make a Splash Program. The USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash initiative is a national child-focused water safety campaign, which aims to provide the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim. To learn more, visit Make a Splash
