Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records 2013

The Irving Independent School District will destroy special education records for students who moved from the district, graduated, and or exited the program during the 2006 - 2007 school year. Parents or students 18 years or older who would like to have a copy of their records must submit a written request to Irving ISD, Attn: Records Officer, P.O. Box 152637, Irving, Texas 75015-2637. All requests must be received in writing by December 20, 2013.

EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR

Location: Lively Elementary (PK-5) 

                   Irving High School (6-12)  

Time:        8:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

                   Monday - Thursday  

Dates:     Session I - June 10th - 26th 

                  Session II - July 7th - 24th  

ESY 2014 is a program reserved only for students who have shown severe or substantial regression in a critical need area without ability to recoup skills within a reasonable time period.  ARD committees must examine data to make determinations about the need for ESY services.  

  1. Be placed in a more restrictive special education setting (i.e. more time in a special education classroom); 
  2. Will no longer be able to appropriately progress in the general curriculum*; (*this means the child has lost so many skills in an academic area that he/ she can no longer learn with the rest of the students in the general education classroom in that academic area) 
  3. Will need more direct special education services due to a loss in self-sufficiency in daily living skills  
  4. Will lose access to an independent living environment; or will lose access to on-the-job training, sheltered work and/or productive employment
