There are statutory courses for all Texas public school employees. The following sessions satisfy local, state and federal requirements for teachers, administrators, and other district staff members.
ALL Irving ISD employees must complete the 5 annual compliance courses by October 13*. Employees hired after October 13 have 3 weeks from their date of hire to complete this training.

T-TESS Training must be completed by employees evaluated using the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) by September 1*. Employees hired after September 1 have 3 weeks from their date of hire to complete this training.

The T-TESS Orientation course is designed for teachers who have not been trained in the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS).
The T-TESS Refresher course is designed for teachers who have been trained in the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) and previously completed T-TESS Orientation.

When and where can I access the required annual training?
The annual compliance training and T-TESS training links will be published on or before August 1, 2023 on the district's Required Training site.
The required coursework will be completed in Eduphoria eCourses, and is best viewed using Google Chrome.

Who must complete the annual compliance training?
All employees, including paraprofessionals and guest educators must complete the annual compliance training.

What is the deadline for completing the annual compliance training?
ALL Irving ISD employees must complete the annual compliance courses by October 13, 2023.
Employees hired on or after October 13, 2023 must complete the annual compliance course within 3 weeks of their hire date.

Who must complete T-TESS training?
All new to education teachers as well as teachers who have not been previously trained on the T-TESS orientation must take the T-TESS orientation eCourse.
Returning IISD teachers and new to IISD teachers who have taken the T-TESS Orientation in a previous year or other district must complete the Irving ISD T-TESS Refresher eCourse.

What is the deadline for completing T-TESS teacher training?
ALL Irving ISD professional staff evaluated under T-TESS must complete the applicable T-TESS course by September 1, 2023.
Employees hired on or after the first day of instruction must complete the applicable T-TESS course within 3 weeks of their hire date.

Should I complete the eCourse during or outside of contract days and times?
When to complete the compliance eCourses is dependent upon your role:
- Paraprofessionals must complete the compliance training while on the clock during normal work hours.
- Professional staff may complete the training during or outside of contract days/times.
- Guest Educators may complete the compliance training during or outside of the work day.

What type of credit is earned by completing the compliance courses?
Participants will earn SBEC credit upon completion of each compliance course.

How do I register for and complete an Eduphoria eCourse?
Register for and complete an Eduphoria eCourse using these detailed instructions.

Do I need to complete the eCourse in one sitting or can I save my work and return later?
You can complete the annual compliance eCourses at your own pace. Just make sure you complete the section you are currently working on prior to exiting the eCourse.

How do I know I have completed each chapter in the eCourse?
Eduphoria uses icons to indicate your progress in the eCourse.
- A green checkmark indicates the chapter was viewed in its entirety.
- A pencil icon indicates the chapter is in progress and not yet completed.
- An icon with no checkmark or pencil indicates the chapter has not been accessed yet.

How do I request credit after completing the annual compliance eCourse?
After completing the coursework through the “Course Content” tab, a “Request Credit” button will appear in the upper left corner.
Click the “Request Credit” button to finish the process. For assistance, view these detailed instructions.
Note: You will only see the "Request Credit" button if you see a green check mark next to each section of the eCourse.
