Steps to become Student Teacher

The deadline for requests is November 1, for spring semester placements and May 1 for fall semester placements. To begin the process of becoming a student teacher in Irving ISD, follow the steps below:
Complete the Student Teacher Application
Background check is processed
District locates a placement for the student teacher
Placement confirmation email is sent
Student teacher contacts campus for instructions on reporting for assignment

To begin the process of completing observation hours in Irving ISD, follow the steps below:
Complete the Volunteer Application (Background check)
Background check is processed
Student contacts campus directly to verify if the campus is able to accommodate the requested observation hours.
